A cancer diagnosis results in many questions for the patient and family. CTRC strives to provide accurate, reliable, and up-to-date information to help you understand your diagnosis and treatment.
The Patient Library is located on the 1st floor of the Grossman Building at the Medical Center Campus. The library stocks National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society and Lance Armstrong brochures about cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship issues. Visitors to the library are invited to borrow books about cancer, complementary therapies, nutrition, stress management, exercise and more. A computer access is available with a variety of reliable cancer-related sites already bookmarked to help you with your information search. The library offers a quiet refuge away from the clinic setting. Comfortable chairs, TV with VCR and DVD, entertainment videos and a serene atmosphere provides a retreat from the busy medical environment.
S.N.A.C.K.S. Lecture (Some News About Cancer, Knowledge and Support) is a free monthly lecture series that focuses on issues important to cancer patients and caregivers. Each month a new subject is presented by a local expert who specializes in some aspect of cancer care. Topics range from general cancer information, prevention, treatment, and support. Lunch is served to the first 25 attendees.
The Wellness Center offers activities and programs to enhance well-being. Classes range in scope from stress management to cooking classes. Cancer patients, caregivers and the general public are invited to participate in these free, fun and informative classes.
