Dr. Curiel is an internationally-recognized expert in innovative treatment of cancer using the body’s own immune system. His training included a Bachelors of Science from the University of Georgia, MPH at Harvard University, MD at Duke, Internal Medicine Residency at Yale, Infectious Disease fellowship at Harvard, and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado. He has been the National Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Group on Experimental Therapeutics, has published extensively on the immune system and cancer, and has been awarded many prestigious grants from the National Institutes of Health for his work.
