About This Event
Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio invites you to our annual San Antonio Liver Cancer Symposium (SALCS) at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in downtown San Antonio on Oct. 11-12, 2024.
Join us for a two-day symposium filled with engaging sessions and interactive panel discussions to promote collaboration and advance liver cancer knowledge. This meeting will cover the epidemiology of liver cancer and explore the latest pre-clinical, translational and clinical breakthroughs in its treatment, encompassing survivorship care and pediatric liver cancer. We welcome the liver cancer community, along with physicians, researchers, nurses and providers, to participate and contribute to this enriching experience.
Topics include:
- Exploring pediatric management of hepatoblastoma, including its molecular signatures and novel therapies.
- Examining the controversies in transplantation.
- Growing community liver cancer programs to enhance patient care and support.
- Developing personalized programs for non-viral versus viral hepatitis/cirrhosis.
- Gaining insights into the current therapeutic landscape for hepatocellular carcinoma.
- Discussing the shifting paradigms in locoregional treatments: surgical advancements, interventional radiology and transplant innovations.

Abstract instructions:
- Abstracts must include all authors and their institutions.
- Disclosure information for all authors must be included.
- Identify the lead author with an asterisk.
- Awards will be offered, and the top three posters will be presented during the symposium on Friday, October 11, 2024.
- Up to three references are allowed. These should be cited numerically in the text and placed under “References Cited” with titles included.
- Abbreviations can be used as long they are defined at their first mention in the text.
- The author and institution list is not included in the character limit.
- The lead/primary author listed on the abstract must be registered and present at the conference.
- Accepted abstracts - presenters will be notified by e-mail in September 2024.
- Presenters are responsible for producing and printing their posters if they are accepted for a poster. The Instructions for the poster printing will be sent to accepted abstracts.
- All accepted posters will be able to be presented during the evening poster session on Friday, October 11, 2024.
